For the past month, I have been working diligently here in Ecuador to complete my new book for teachers of English as a Second or Subsequent Language. I am so excited that it is almost ready! The book started out to have only 100 to 150 signs but now has a total of 272 signs, not counting the handshapes, alphabet, etc.
I believe that the information in this book will benefit any teacher willing to use a new kinesthetic approach to the acquisition of 2nd language vocabulary. My illustrator, Dana, has done a fabulous job with the daunting task of drawing all of the illustrations used in this book. I am a little nervous to announce this but MY deadline for the book to be completed is January 31st so that I will be able to self-publish it on Create Space in February. Then, I will also be able to bring printed copies to my workshop at TESOL International to be held in Seattle the 3rd week of March. I can't wait to be able to share it with you as it is a work of love, for sure! Also, if you are reading this, please add your email and/or make a comment so I know who is following this blog. I would love to hear about your experiences with sign or just your desire to try it. We all have various backgrounds so I would enjoy hearing yours too. Thanks! Vicky
